Hillsboro - Gladys Diane (Sexton) Bolin, 65, of rural Hillsboro, died at 5:35 a.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in her residence.
Gladys was born on March 3, 1954 in Fort Belvoir VA. She was the daughter of Maudie Lee (Cosby) Sexton and the late Carl Eugene Sexton. She graduated from Hamilton Heights HS in Arcadia in 1972. She then received her RN degree from Vincennes University in 1974. She had previously lived in Pence before moving to Hillsboro in 1989.
Gladys married James Ray Bolin on January 31, 1977 in the Hedrick Church of God. He survives.
Gladys worked as a Registered Nurse specializing in OB/Gyn care. She started working in Riverview Hospital in Noblesville in 1974. In 1976 she began working in the hospitals in Danville, IL, first at Lakeview, followed by Prescence, United Samaritans, Provena UNS, and finally OSF; retiring on March 28, 2014.
Gladys was a member of the Hedrick Church of God involved in the Abrahamic Faith. She was also a member of the Indiana Blacksmiths Assn, Illiana Antique Power Assn and the Pine Village Quilt Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and studying Civil War History.
Surviving along with her husband of 42 years, James, are her mother, Maudie L. Sexton, Hillsboro; two sons, Kent Bolin, Hillsboro and Jon (Jennifer) Bolin, Veedersburg; daughter, Penny (John) Blackburn, Kingman; sister, Norma Kay (Harold) Galliher, Noblesville; and three grandchildren, Tiffany Bolin, Emily Bolin & Destiny Blackburn. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul Eugene Sexton.
Cremation will take place. A Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Hedrick Church of God at 4:00 p.m. with David Cheatwood officiating. Contributions may be made to PSP - Progressive Supranuclear Palsy or the Hedrick Church of God.
