West Lafayette - Goldie May (Watson) Hall Massengill, 90, West Lafayette, passed away in the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 7:20 a.m.
Goldie was born in Trace Branch, McCreary County, Kentucky on May 2, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Kelly and Dana (Fradie) Watson. Goldie was raised and educated in McCreary County, Kentucky, later moving to Cincinnati and then to Attica. She has resided in West Lafayette since 2007.
Goldie formerly worked at Radio Material Corp. in Attica and later worked at Essex Wire and Landis Gyr in Lafayette.
She was a charter member of the Old Fashioned Baptist Church in Independence. She enjoyed being a homemaker and liked to take walks in the neighborhood.
Goldie first married Lecil Hall on October 29, 1956 in McCreary County, Kentucky. She later married James Massengill on August 5, 1980 in Harrogate, TN. Both husbands preceded in death.
She leaves behind three children, Linda Kay (Gary) Wesley, Battle Ground; Wanda Jean (Bryan) Cunningham, West Lafayette; Connie Lee Gregory, Kingman; eight grandchildren, Joshua, Steven and Christopher Gregory; Jeffery and Kurtis Schnepp; Misty Cunningham Gretencord; Eric Hall and Curtis Lee Massengill; nine great-grandchildren, Autumn, Dean "Brady", Hannah, Grace, Jonathan, Michael, Juliana, Jucinta and Lillian. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lorene Hall and a son, Tony Wayne Hall; six brothers, Edison, William, Jimmy, Lee, Kelly and Junior Watson; three sisters, Reba Dean McCoy, Edith Pennington and June Kay Honey.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica on Tuesday, July 14th from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Henry Bell Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Old Fashioned Baptist Church in Independence.
