Otterbein - Gregory "Greg" Steven Zak, 70, of Otterbein, died at 1:20 a.m. on September 24, 2022 at the home of his son in rural Williamsport.

Greg was born on January 15, 1952 in Gary. He was the son of the late Russell A. and Marjorie (Engel) Zak, Sr. He grew up on the farm in Lowell that is now Freedom Park.  He attended school at St. Edwards Catholic School and Lowell High School, graduating in 1970. He attended college in Montana where he played basketball for the university.  He was a truck driver and in 1978 moved to the farm in Independence and began farming as well.

Greg loved the outdoors, he enjoyed going on hikes with his family. He was also an active hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed watching all types of sports.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Janet "Jan" S. (Flynn) Zak; daughter, Jody (Greg) Holzinger, Huntington; sons, William Zak, West Lafayette and Clayton (Jessica) Zak, Williamsport; grandchildren, Ethan Owens, Lillian & Adam Holzinger, Dylan Zak & Jon Mauck; brother, Russell Zak, Jr., Rensselaer; sisters, Gina (Randy) O'Dowd Rock Hill, SC, Vanessa (Dan) Bellant, Port Charlotte, Fl, Suzie (Tom) Szymanski, Portage and Teresa (Andy) Bain, Skiatook, OK; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life for Greg on October 15th from 12:00 until 4:00 p.m. at the farm with a private family ceremony to follow.  2864 N 950  E Otterbein IN.
