Attica - Greta Louise Childs, 88, Attica, passed away in the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 9:40 a.m.
Greta was born in Otterbein, Indiana on February 27, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Eilhard and Anne (Janssen) Feldkamp. She was raised in Benton County just outside Otterbein. She was a 1950 graduate of Gilboa High School. She has resided in Warren Township in Warren County since 1961.
Greta assisted her husband in farming. She also served as a bus driver of the Metropolitan School District of Warren County. She transported children to the Pine Village and Seeger Shools for nearly 30 years.
Greta was a member of the Attica Christian Church. She enjoyed working outdoors on the farm and tending to her flower garden.
Greta was first married to Gerald Garriott. He preceded her in death in November of 1964. She later married Bernard Childs on April 11, 1971 in the St. John's Lutheran Church in Otterbein, IN. Bernard preceded her in death on January 2, 2007.
Greta leaves behind two sons, Lon (Cynthia) Garriott and Rick (Eileen) Garriott, both of Attica; six grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and a great great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a step son, Dennis Childs along with three sisters, Anna Marie Schurr, Catherine Goad and Alberta Smith.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, December 18th, from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Hunter Chadwell officiating. Burial will follow in the Weston Cemetery, Rensselaer, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Christian Church. All people attending are required to wear masks and do social distancing.
