Attica - Grover Lee Rasnic, 87, Attica, passed away in the Franciscan Health East Hospital, Lafayette, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 4:25 p.m.
Grover was born in Hancock County, Tennessee on August 16, 1936.  He was the son of the late James Henley and Nora (Ramsey) Rasnic.  Grover was raised in Sneedville, Tennessee and later moved to Orleans, Indiana.  He has resided in Attica most of his adult life.
Grover farmed in VanBuren Township of Fountain County from 1967-1982 and later worked as a gas and electric welder at Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica. He also was a self-employed truck driver for several years until his retirement.
Grover served during the Korean War in the U.S. Army from 1954-1957 and at the time of his honorable discharge had attained the rank of Private First Class.
He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica and a former member of the Attica Eagles Lodge # 2596.  He enjoyed bowling and bowled on Sunday mixed league at Shawnee Lanes.
Grover was first married to Carol McMahan on November of 1958 in Mitchell, IN.  He later married Rosetta "Rosie" (Smart) McKee on April 5, 1975 in Veedersburg, IN.  Rosie preceded him in death on November 10, 2006.
Grover leaves behind a daughter, Debbie Rasnic, Attica; three sons, David (Patricia) Rasnic, Attica; Don (Rhonda) Rasnic, New Haven, IN and Dwayne (Amie) Rasnic, Attica; a step son, Richard Harris, New Haven, IN; two grandsons, Cory (Megan) Reynolds, Attica and Justin (Heather) Rasnic,  Houston, TX; four granddaughters, Brianne (Bryan) Wrede, West Lafayette; Brittany (Jared Stonebraker) Rasnic, Attica; Jennifer (Glen) Taylor, Houston, TX and Jamie (Rudi Carbajal) Rasnic, Houston, TX; and 12 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Rasnic, Williamsport; three half-brothers, Crit, Donny and Hank; and two half sisters, Martha Jo and Elsie in Tennessee.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Hollis, Paris and Otis Rasnic.
As per Grover's request, cremation services were accorded him and there will be no public service. Memorial contributions can be made to Paw'n'Claws Animal Shelter in Attica, IN.
