Williamsport - Gwendolyn "Gwen" G. (Bales) Jernagan, 66, Williamsport, passed away in the Franciscan Health East Hospital, Lafayette, on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 2:15 p.m.
Gwen, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Williamsport, Indiana on January 5, 1958.  She was the daughter of the late Arvin Lynn and Joyce Ann (Rush) Bales.  Gwen was raised in Williamsport, graduating from Seeger High School in 1976.  She later received an Associate Degree from Ivy Tech in Lafayette.
Gwen formerly worked at Pro Flex in Hillsboro and prior to that worked as a clerk at Garrett Shell Station in Attica.
Gwen enjoyed flower gardening; was an avid reader and liked to knit in her spare time.
Gwen was formerly married to Jeffry Jernagan.
Gwen leaves behind her two daughters, Casey Powers, and Bobbi Jernagan, both of Attica; three brothers, Gary (Arcelia) Bales, Houston, TX; Scott (Jean) Bales, Williamsport; Richard (Anne) Bales, Lafayette; a sister, Gail (Dan) Killin, Pine Village; three granddaughters, Olivia Jernagan, Morgan Powers and Madilynn Powers.
Friends may gather at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, April 8th, from 2:00 p.m. until the memorial service time at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Joshua Barnett officiating.  Inurnment will follow at a later date in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Public Library.
