Brownsburg - Harry Richard "Dick" Staley, 78, Brownsburg and formerly of Attica, passed away in Hendricks Regional Health, Danville, IN, on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 8:53 p.m.
Dick, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Kokomo, IN  on March 8, 1946.  He was the son of the late Harry Sherman and Frances Jewel (Shaw) Staley.  Dick grew up in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1964.  He later attended Indiana University.
While living in Attica, Dick formerly worked at the Western Auto Store with his father.  He later became a car salesman with the Ford Motor Company in Attica until his move to Brownsburg in 1977.  He then worked at various Ford Dealerships including Carson Ford in Brownsburg and retired from Bill Estes Ford Dealership in 2018.
Dick attended the Connection Pointe Christian Church in Brownsburg.  He enjoyed the outdoors where he liked to fish and golf.  His favorite pastime was automobiles.  He was very proud of his 2024 Corvette that he purchased.  He was a member of the Lafayette Corvette Club.  He was a member of the Fountain Lodge # 60 F. & A.M.; member of the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis.  Also in his pastime he enjoyed playing cards and was an avid I.U. basketball fan.  Most dear to his heart was his family and friends.
On August 24, 1968, Dick married his high school sweetheart, Mary Katherine Lee in the Attica-Willliamsport Presbyterian Church.
He leaves behind his wife, Mary of 56 years along with two daughters, Kristi (Alex) Slinkard and Kim Staley, both of Brownsburg; four grandchildren, Mia (Dietrich) Ney and Molly Romine, both of Indianapolis; Josie Slinkard and Noah Slinkard, both of Brownsburg.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, November 1st from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. with a Masonic Memorial Service beginning at 5:00 p.m.  A celebration of Dick's life will follow the Masonic Memorial Service at 5:15 p.m. with Chaplain Rich Stoll officiating.  Inurnment will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica, at a later date.
