Attica - Harry James "Jimmy" King Jr., 46, Attica, passed away unexpectedly in the Methodist Hospital Southlake, in Merrillville, IN on Sunday, October 20, 2024 R 3:21 p.m.
Jimmy, as he was known by family and friends, was born in the Home Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana on January 18, 1978. He is the son of Harry James King of Veedersburg and Robin Lynn (Buster) King of Williamsport. Jimmy was raised and lived most of his life in Attica where he attended Attica High School. He later lived in Williamsport and more recently moved to the Serenity House in Gary, IN.
Jimmy formerly worked as a cook at the Short Stop in Attica.
Jimmy has lived in Gary for the past year and was staying in the Serenity House and was recovering from his addictions. He was encouraged by his sponsors, Brian and Rich to help him overcome these addictions. He was making great progress and was encouraged by those around him. He was proud of his accomplishments and his family was proud of his progress. He felt good about himself with the help of the staff and friends at Serenity House, where he helped with maintenance around the facility. In his early years, Jimmy enjoyed drawing. He had a caring attitude for other family and friends.
Jimmy leaves behind his parents, Harry King of Veedersburg and Robin (Ira Wilson) King, Williamsport; a sister, Brandy King, Council Bluffs, IA; his niece, Senaya King, Omaha, NE; Cousin, Jona & William Johnson, El Paso, IL and many other cousins.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, October 28th, from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Lange officiating. Casual attire is recommended for the service. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Serenity House, 5157 Harrison St., Gary, IN 46408.
