Russell Springs, KY - Helen Sue (Conley) Jones, 89, formerly of Russell Springs, KY and had been residing with her daughter in Attica, IN, passed away in the Franciscan Health Crawfordsville Hospital, Crawfordsville, IN on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 12:50 p.m.
Helen was born in Judsonia, Arkansas on May 13, 1935.  She was the daughter of the late A.O. and Pearl (Rosenbaum) Conley.  Helen was raised in Judsonia, graduating from Judsonia High School.  She attended college and received a degree in Dietary Services.
Helen later moved to Russell Springs, KY where she worked at the Jamestown Elementary School in Jamestown, KY and later for the Union Chapel Elementary School.  She then transferred to Fair Oaks in Jamestown, KY as the dietician.  Helen's final employment was with the Fruit of the Loom Factory in Jamestown as Quality Control worker.  She retired from Fruit of the Loom.
Helen was a member of the Freedom Christian Church in Jamestown.  She was an excellent seamstress and cook.  She enjoyed playing bingo.  She liked to work in her vegetable garden.  She loved to help others and served as a caregiver to her aunts during their final days.  She had lots of friends and enjoyed day and weekend trips with them to various functions.  Her greatest enjoyment was her family and she adored her grandchildren.
Helen was married to Frank Jones who preceded her in death in April of 1989.  Later she developed a friendship with Elwood Burton and maintained that friendship until his recent passing.
Helen leaves behind her three children, Marla Skaggs, Russell Springs, KY; Frank (Mary) Jones, Warrensburg, MO and Fonda (Marty) Landon, Attica, IN; her five siblings, Ronnie (Carolyn) Conley; Jesse Conley; Linda Simpson; Gina Teasley and Lyle Conley, all of Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Misti (Jamie) Doherty, Matthew (Lindsey) Spence, Brandy (Mark) Beasley, Brandon Jones, Bobby (Linda) Shepherd, Eddie Shepherd, Kyle (Amber) Skaggs and Jordan (Heather) Skaggs; nineteen great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, John D. and Max Conley.
As per Helen's wish, cremation services were accorded her and a memorial gathering and celebration of her life will be held at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 E. Main St., Jamestown, KY on Saturday, April 19th at 2:00 p.m.  Inurnment will follow in the Jamestown Cemetery, Jamestown, KY.
