Williamsport - Herman "Hermie" Nelson Fink, 87, Williamsport, passed away in the Williamsport Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at 5:17 a.m.
Hermie, as he was known to family and friends" was born at home in the Hickman Heights area of Warren County, Indiana on July 11, 1935.  He was the son of the late Ernest Herman and Weltha Joyce (Whitlock) Fink.  Hermie was a life resident of rural Williamsport in Liberty Township.  He was a 1954 graduate of Pine Village High School.
Following graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1958-1960.  At the time of his honorable discharge he had attained the rank of Specialist 5th Class.
Hermie farmed all of his life in Liberty Township in Warren County.  He also worked at Brown Rubber in Lafayette; the CO-OP in West Lebanon and Harrison Steel in Attica.  He loved his farm and enjoyed raising Angus Cattle.
He was a member of the Hickman Heights Christian Church.  He was a member of the Saddle Club; you could set your watch by the time he visited the Carbondale Coffee Club meetings.  He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time visiting with family and friends.
On February 19, 1961, Hermie married Laverna "Vernie" Jane Beason in Williamsport, IN.  Vernie preceded Hermie in death on August 12, 2016.
He leaves behind two sons, Pastor Clint (Mary) Fink, Linden, IN and Bryan "Ernie" E. Fink, Williamsport; two grandsons, Andrew (Chelsey) Fink and Randall (Kelsey) Fink; six great-grandchildren, Ryeanne, Addalynn, Mckyla, Evelyn, Deacon and Gentry Fink; four brothers, Charles Fink, Lafayette; Jack Fink, Williamsport; Larry "Hoss" Fink, Williamsport and Mike (Linda) Fink, Attica; three sisters, Joyce Haddock and Linda Neal, both of Williamsport; Kathy (Bill) Burton, Fowler.  He was preceded in death by a son, Tony Fink and a sister, Judy Scolley.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, May 25th, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.   A service for Hermie will be held at the Hickman Heights Christian Church on Friday, May 26th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Ian Costandi officiating.  Burial with military honors will be held in the Rainsville Cemetery, Rainsville, IN.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Hickman Heights Christian Church, Angus Cattle Association or the Seeger FFA.
