Attica - Howard Harvin Jackson, 91, Attica, passed away in the St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 11:01 a.m.
Howard was born in Kingman, Indiana on May 12, 1929. He was the son of the late Cecil and May (Pascall) Jackson. He was raised in Kingman and attended Kingman High School. In 1953, Howard entered the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. At the time of his honorable discharge, Howard had attained the rank of Private First Class.
Before going into the service, Howard first worked at the Feed Store in Kingman. After the service he worked at Wills Furniture Company in Indianapolis. He later worked on construction during the building of I-74 Interstate. He retired from National Homes in Lafayette where he worked cutting trusses.
Howard was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1482; Life member of the V.F.W. Post # 3318, both of Attica; member of the Kingman American Legion Post # 384 and a Life member of the Disabled American Veterans of Indianapolis. He enjoyed fishing.
On March 2, 1974, Howard married Grace Olive (Hill) Crook in Cayuga, IN. Grace preceded him in death on June 21, 2009.
Howard leaves behind good friends, Jim & Edie Nash of Attica. He was preceded in death by five brother and five sisters along with his pet dog, Skeeter.
A memorial gravesite service with military honors will be held in the Kingman Fraternal Cemetery on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at 1:00 p.m.
