Attica - Hulda June (Hall) Rouse, 83, formerly of Attica and had been residing in the Gardenview Health Center, Tilton, IL, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of the OSF Hospital, Danville, IL on Thursday, December 29, 2022 at 6:06 p.m.
Hulda was born in Buck Creek, Indiana on July 11, 1939. She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Katherine G. (Kauffman) Hall. Hulda was raised in Buck Creek and graduated from Buck Creek High School in 1958. She later moved to Attica in 1964.
Hulda first worked for Radio Material Corp in Attica for 20 years and later worked at the Attica IGA for 5 years. She retired in 2008 from Purdue University where she worked as a service worker at the Young Grad House for 13 ½ years.
Hulda had attended the Williamsport Christian Church. She was a life member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post # 3318 of Attica. She enjoyed camping, knitting and crocheting. She was an avid NASCAR fan. She enjoyed working in her yard and playing on her iPad. Hulda also enjoyed watching her "red birds" cardinals in her yard.
On July 19, 1960, June married Robert Eugene Rouse in Lafayette, IN. Robert preceded her in death on January 22, 2001.
She leaves behind several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Wilma Phillips, Chrisman, IL.   She was preceded in death by a step daughter, Shirley Whitehead, three sisters and three brothers. A special "thank-you" goes out to Bill & Kay Shipley for their special care that was given to Hulda.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, January 3rd from 12:30 p.m. until service time at 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
