Covington - Jack Leonard, 93, of Covington, passed away in the Carle Hospital, Urbana, IL on Wednesday, November 13, 2024 at 12:47 p.m.
Jack was born in Whiting, Indiana on August 14, 1931.  He was the son of the late Roy and Gladys (Baldwin) Leonard.  Jack was raised in Whiting and later enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean War from 1948-1952.  Following the service Jack and his wife, Helen of 52 years, chose to raise their two sons in State Line, Indiana.
Jack formerly worked as a forklift operator for Bohn Aluminum in Danville until his retirement in 1993.
Jack was a life member of the V.F.W. Post # 2395 of Covington.  He took pride in the cars that he drove and enjoyed attending car shows.
On December 23, 1972, Jack married Helen Kay Ware in Attica.  Helen preceded him in death on August 5, 2014.
Jack leaves behind two sons, Bobby (Deanna) Leonard, Covington and Larry Leonard, West Lebanon; thee grandchildren, Taler, Tylan and Paige Leonard; three great-grandchildren, Casyn Clark, Owen Clark and Crue Scott.
A private family memorial gravesite service with military honors will be held at a later date in the West Lebanon Cemetery, West Lebanon, IN.
