Williamsport - Jacqueline "Jackie" Elaine (Peterson) Brier, 81, Williamsport, passed away in the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 6:25 p.m.
Jackie, as she was known to family and friends, was born in Williamsport, Indiana on February 7, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Charles Bernard and Dorothy Elizabeth (Skelly) Peterson. Jackie was raised in rural Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1961. She attended airline training school and worked for United Airlines out of Chicago.
On May 26, 1972, Jackie married James David Brier in Attica. David preceded her in death on January 5, 2002.
Jackie worked for United Airlines until she married her husband David and then settled down in rural Williamsport to raise a family. While living in rural Williamsport she became Administrator for the Warren County Home. She worked at the County Home for 12 years and retired.
Jackie was a member of the Locust Grove United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flower bed. In her early years she enjoyed riding horses and was always up for a euchre game. Her greatest passion was spending time with her grandchildren.
Jackie leaves behind her four children, Charles "Chuck" (Joan) Brier, Boswell; Rod Brier, Williamsport; Lori (Greg) McGowen, Williamsport and Michele (Troy) Tucker, Boswell; two sisters, Rosemary (Michael) Layton and Linda (Andy) Smart, both of Attica; fourteen grandchildren, Jeremy (Christie) Brier, Jordan (fiancée-Emily Tankersly) Brier, Bobby Brier, Matt Brier, Elizabeth Brier, Cody Brier, Brooke Conrad, Ian Conrad, Bailey (Clint) Moore, Bridget (Tanner) Lincicum, Nicholas (Hannah) McGowen, Tristin (Hannah) Tucker, Justin Tucker and Austin Tucker; ten great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Gerald "Jerry" Peterson.
A memorial gravesite service will be held in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport on Thursday, July 25th, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating.
