Attica - James "Jim" D. Wilson, 74, Attica, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 2:30 p.m.
Jim was born at home in Attica, Indiana on January 25, 1947. He was the son of the late Herbert and Geneva L. (East) Wilson. He was a life resident of Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1965. Following graduation from high school, Jim entered the Air Force and served in Vietnam from 1966-1967. At the time of his honorable discharge, Jim had attained the rank of Sergeant.
Jim formerly worked as a maintenance supervisor at Community Hospital in Williamsport. He retired from Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica in 2009, working there as a tester in the Metallurgical Lab.
Jim enjoyed his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He liked to collect Coca-Cola memorabilia. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics and even built his own television in his younger adult years. He always enjoyed a good card game with family and friends. He liked to cook and share the food with those closest to him. He was a great pumpkin pie baker.
On December 20, 1985, Jim married Sheila K. Phelps at their home in Attica.
He leaves behind his wife, Sheila of 35 years along with a son, Ryan (Autumn) Wilson, Attica and a daughter, Jennifer Wilson-Hainje, Lafayette; a sister, Dixie (Gene) Alkire, Covington; a brother-in-law, Raleigh Molden, Attica; three grandsons, Keegan Wilson, Kelsey Hainje and Layne Wilson; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dianna Molden; two brothers, Jerry Wilson and Tim and sister-in-law, Pam Wilson; his mother-in-law, Wilma Phelps and his life long friend, Larry Reese.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, February 20th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Badgley officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. All people attending the service will be required to wear a mask and keep a social distance from the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children Hospital, Riley Children Hospital or to the charity of one's choice.
