Williamsport - James "Jim" Fredrick Silver, 82, Williamsport, passed away in the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center, on Sunday, July 25, 2021 at 8:35 a.m.
Jim, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Lafayette, Indiana on February 15, 1939. He was the son of the late Martin and Mildred Joycelyn (Faulkner) Silver. He was a life resident of Warren County, graduating from Williamsport High School in 1957.
He served during the Cuban Missile Crisis in the U.S. Army.
Jim worked for several years with the Rogers Sand & Gravel Quarry in Williamsport.
He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Jim always enjoyed riding through the country side checking on the local crops. He enjoyed the time spent with his family, especially the nieces and nephews. Jim looked forward to harvest time in the fall, which brought the "farm boy" out in him.
Jim leaves behind a brother, Robert (Becky) Silver, Attica and a sister, Sandy (Jerry) Swanson, Denver, IA; several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; his two sisters-in-law, Joyce Silver, Williamsport and Alice Silver, Fowler. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and William Silver along with four sisters, Patty Portman, Joyce Wetli, Rita Senesac and Mary Klemme.
A Rosary will be recited at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, July 28th, at 5:30 p.m. followed by a visitation from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church on Thursday, July 29th, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Rasner officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church "Front Entry Fund" or for Masses.
