Janet L.
Anderson
May 2, 1939 — Oct 10, 2025
Williamsport
Janet Loft Anderson, 86, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on May 2, 1939, and lived a life filled with faith, kindness, and devotion to those she loved most.
Janet's greatest joys were her five beloved grandchildren—Gabe, Jack, Maggie, Matthew, and Madison—who brought her endless pride, laughter, and purpose. She treasured every moment spent with her family and friends, whose love sustained her through all of life's seasons.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Charles; her son Brian and his wife Lisa, and their children Gabe and Maggie; and her daughter Chris and her husband John, and their children Jack, Matthew, and Maddie. Janet was preceded in death by her eldest son, Brad, who will be there to lovingly greet her in heaven.
Janet, a woman of deep faith, was a longtime member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church and, in recent years, attended the Attica Presbyterian Church, where she found joy in fellowship and worship. She always enjoyed her years helping with Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.
For over forty years, Janet could be found walking the same mile-long block nearly every day - rain or shine- waving to friends, stopping to chat with neighbors, and sharing a smile or kind word with everyone she met. Those daily walks became her trademark, a simple joy that connected her to her community and reflected the warmth she brought wherever she went.
Born the youngest of thirteen siblings, Janet cherished her large, close-knit family and took great pride in being the last of her generation—a living link to a family legacy built on love, resilience, and faith.
She will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering kindness, and the quiet strength with which she touched so many lives.
