Veedersburg - Janet Lucille (Moon) Booe, 75, Veedersburg, passed away at her home in Veedersburg on Thursday, February 27, 2025 at 9:15 a.m.
Janet was born in Williamsport, Indiana on October 18, 1949. She was the daughter of the late Charles J. and Nellie Lucille (Harvey) Moon. Janet was raised in Fowler, graduating from Fowler High School in 1968. She later lived in Attica for five years before moving to Veedersburg in 1971. From there she lived in Danville, Illinois from 1992 until moving back to Veedersburg four years ago.
Janet worked at Heatcraft in Danville for 20 years retiring in 2008.
Janet was a member of the Crossroads Christian Church in Danville, IL. She enjoyed crafts and working with flowers at the Veedersburg Florist. She enjoyed the outdoors where she liked to fish and camp.
Janet was formerly married to Michael Booe.
Janet leaves behind two sons, Scott (Amanda) Booe, Elba, AL and Michael (Kristy) Booe, Veedersburg; two sisters, Charlotte Smith, Sheldon, IL; Deb (Scott) Macphail, Queen Creek, AZ; a brother, Rick Moon, Yankton, SD; seven grandchildren, Jadin Booe, Boynton Beach, FL; Destinee (Zach) Reeder, Elba, AL; Chase Booe, Parke County, IN; August Booe, Dana, IN; Dakota Booe, Portland Arch, IN; three bonus grandchildren, Samantha Weidman, FL; Madison Weidman, FL and Emma Tucker, Danville, IL; nine great-grandchildren, Avery, Raelynn, Braylon, Kinsley, Gunnar, Maverick, Zaiden, Emmitt and Izzy along with two great-grandchildren on the way.
Janet was preceded in death by a son, Jon Booe; her parents and a long time partner and soul mate, Danny Hollingsworth.
Friends may gather at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, March 7th from 6:00 p.m. until the Memorial Service time at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Miles Clark officiating. If you decide to send flowers please order them from the Veedersburg Florist. Memorial contributions may be made to the animal shelter of your choice or to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
