West Lebanon - Janet Louise (Leming) Booth, 89, formerly of West Lebanon, and had been residing at Autumn Trace in Attica, passed away in Autumn Trace on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at 6:33 a.m. with her daughters at her bedside.
Janet was born on July 31, 1936 in Lafayette, Indiana.  She was the daughter of the late Millard C. Leming and Gladys M. (Kauffman) Megenhardt and step daughter of the late Ray Megenhardt.  Janet was raised in Lafayette and attended Lafayette Jefferson High School.  Though she didn't graduate with her class, she was proud of her Graduate Equivalent Degree (GED) that she received later in life. As a teenager, she sang for a local radio station in Lafayette on Saturdays.  As a youth, her family traveled a lot, living in Arizona before moving to West Lebanon in 1963.  She has resided in Autumn Trace for the past five years.
While living in West Lebanon, she worked as an Occupational Therapist at the Illiana VA Hospital in Danville, IL for several years, retiring in 1994.
Janet was a member of the West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene, where she operated a pre-owned clothing store to the local residents of West Lebanon.  She was known for her generous nature by donating to families in the area.  She enjoyed doing crafts and providing supplies for Vacation Bible School programs.  Her main focus was her church.  She attended Danville Area Community College where she received instructions for cake and decorating classes.  She provided Birthday, Wedding and Anniversary cakes and candies to many families in the community.
Janet was married to Ralph D. Booth who preceded her in death on September 1, 2000.
Janet leaves behind two daughters, Holly A. (Bill) Taylor, Attica and Tammy J. (Ronald) Humphreys, State Line, IN; a sister, Linda Hensley, Monticello, IN; a brother, Norman (Teresa) Leming, Lafayette; six grandchildren, Eddie D. King, Ariel Humphreys, Amber White, Tiffany (Michael) Hall, Ryan King and Bill C. Taylor; four great-grandchildren, Alaina White, Braeden White, William E. Taylor and Henry M. Hall; Marcy (Kevin) Johnson, whom she loved like a daughter, West Lebanon and a very dear friend, Sue Smith, West Lebanon.  She was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Gracie Marie Taylor; two sisters, Carol Myers and Rita Leming; three brothers, Mick Leming Bill Leming and Clifton Leming.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, June 10th from 10:00 a.m. until the service time at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Jeff Stedge officiating.  Burial will follow in the West Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Community Foundation c/o Tyler Potts Memorial Scholarship Fund.
