Williamsport - Janet Lee (Hurd) Fink, 84, formerly of Williamsport and had been residing in Lafayette, passed away in the St. Mary's Healthcare Center, Lafayette, on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 10:55 p.m.
Janet was born in Williamsport, Indiana on July 4, 1937. She was the daughter of the late James Francis and Dorothy Aetna (Adams) Hurd. She was a life resident of Warren County, graduating from Williamsport High School in 1955. She more recently moved to Lafayette in 2015.
Janet worked in the cafeteria at Seeger Memorial High School for 26 years, with the last 10 years serving as manager of the kitchen.
Janet grew up as a member of the Williamsport United Methodist Church and had presently been a member of the Hickman Heights Christian Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher for the youth groups for many years. She was a member of the Ladies Aid of the church. She was noted for her baking skills and had baked out of her home for families for over 50 years, starting with birthday and wedding cakes and later baking, pies, cakes, cookies and making noodles.
On September 27, 1957, Janet married Charles E. Fink in the Williamsport United Methodist Church.
She leaves behind her husband, Charles of 64 years along with three daughters, Susan Charlene (companion - Chuck Bales) Fink, Debra Lee Fink and Carolyn Sue Fink, all of Lafayette; a sister, Barbara Allen, Indianapolis and a brother, Dan (Sandie) Hurd, Lafayette.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, September 10th, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 11th held in the Hickman Heights Christian Church with Pastors Terry Chase and Clint Fink officiating. Burial will follow in the Rainsville Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Judes Childrens Hospital or the Christian Appalachian Project. The family states that masks are mandatory for attendees to both visitation and funeral services.
