Attica - Jeffrey "Jeff" Wayne Henry, 63, Attica, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2022 at home with his wife and family by his side after a courageous two year fight against cancer.
Jeff was born in Danville, IL on March 3, 1959. He was of the son of Kay D. (Johnson) Henry of Attica and the late David L. Henry. Jeff was a life resident of Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1977. On April 18, 1980 Jeff married his high school sweetheart, Lori Aldridge in Attica.
Jeff worked various jobs over the years, beginning at the Williamsport Post Office, Twin City News, Neumayr Lumber, Harrison Steel and most recently Menard's until his retirement due to his illness.
Jeff was a member of the Pine Village Lodge # 315 F. & A.M. He was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers, Chicago Cubs and Indiana Hoosiers. He loved to read mainly about history and war. Jeff also had a love of music and was always listening to a wide variety of artists.
His favorite time of the year was Spring when he could get into the woods and hunt mushrooms. He loved hiking at Turkey Run, Shades and Portland Arch parks. Jeff never knew a stranger. He'd strike up a conversation with anyone about any subject and his smile was contagious.
Although he and Lori didn't have any children of their own they thoroughly enjoyed their nieces and nephews.
Jeff leaves behind his wife, Lori of 42 years along with his sweet dog, Lucy Lu; his mother, Kay Henry of Attica; his two sisters, Melanie Meador (companion-Joe Brenner) and Kim (Brad) Gayler, both of Attica; his brother, Kyle (fiancée-Nisha Purcell) Henry, Attica.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, October 22nd from 2:00 until the memorial service time at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Badgley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Attica Community Foundation or the Attica Free Methodist Church.
