Attica - Jerry Lee Best Sr., 75, Attica, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of the Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 9:15 p.m.
Jerry was born in his home in Attica on September 24, 1946. He was the son of the late Donald Leroy and Della Lucille (Smith) Best. He was a life resident of Attica. He worked for 47 years with C & D Battery in Attica, retiring as a battery charger in 2010.
He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 1482 of Attica. He enjoyed collecting coins. His greatest interest was the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He married Carolyn Sue Boren on January 12, 1963 in Lafayette. She preceded him in death on September 24, 2009.
Jerry leaves behind his two sons, Jerry L. (companion-Julie Kirby) Best Jr., and William D. Best, both of Attica; two daughters, Leah (Rob) Gooden, Columbus, OH and Melissa (Tony) Garrett, Attica; eight grandchildren, Jerry Lee Best III; Krissa (fiancé-Aaron Allison) Best; Keaton (companion-Iris Pineda) Best; Brittani Gooden; Nicole (Levi) Brown; Amanda Gooden; Kaylan Garrett and Cadee Gooden; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Harold (Millie) Best, Attica; sister, Bessie (the late John) McCaw, Winter Haven, FL; his cousin with whom he was very close, Ona Okuszki, Attica.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, October 7th, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 8th at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Jordan officiating.
