Covington - Jerry Lee "Pappy" Beedle, Sr., 83, Covington, passed away unexpectedly in the emergency room of the Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital, on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 9:11 a.m.
Jerry was born in Attica, Indiana on February 18, 1940.  He was the son of the late Gerald E. and Thelma Olive (Burris) Beedle.  Jerry was raised in Attica and attended Attica High School.  He later lived in Williamsport before moving to Covington where he has resided for the past 20 plus years.
Jerry formerly worked as a molder at the Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica.  He retired from Harrison Steel after 30 years of service to the company.
Jerry was attending the Salem Community Church near Covington.  He enjoyed collecting antique tractors.  He liked to work word search  puzzles and recycle his cans.  You could find him through the week drinking coffee with friends at Benjamin's in Covington and on Saturday at the Chatterbox in Hillsboro.
On October 23, 1956, Jerry married Linda Lou Whitkanack in Veedersburg, IN.  Linda preceded him in death on February 10, 1990.  He later married Sarah A. (Wirth) Bacon on April 15, 1995 in Kennekuk Park in  Danville, IL.
Jerry leaves behind his wife, Sarah of 28 years along with three sons, Jerry L. "Butch" (Darla Kennedy) Beedle Jr., Williamsport; Rick R. (Jeannie) Beedle, Attica and Earl E. (Kim) Beedle, Williamsport; a step son, Gregory D. (Pam) Bacon, Marquand, MO; a daughter, Lisa A. (Richard) Rush, Williamsport;  three brothers, Richard (Dede) Beedle, Crawfordsville; Robert (Joan) Beedle, Attica and David "Smokie" (Diana) Beedle, Attica; two sisters, Marilyn (Alan) Nacke, Battle Ground, IN; Kathy (Melvin) Collins, West Lebanon; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and a great great-grandson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother and two step sons, Dwayne A. Bacon and Brian K. Bacon.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, December 15th, from 12:00 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert A. Robbins officiating.  Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
