Pine Village - Jill Ann (Coffman) Comer, 73, Pine Village, passed away unexpectedly at Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at 5:27 a.m.
Jill was born in Lafayette, Indiana on December 30, 1952. She was the daughter of the late Charles M. and Barbara E. (Cox) Coffman. Jill was a life resident of the Pine Village community. She loved her time in service as a long-standing member of the Pine Village Christian Church, always lending her time and talents to the children's ministry and music. There she followed in her father's footsteps as the church pianist and organist. She loved music and was a member of the Farmer's Daughters singing group at the Pine Village High School where she was a graduate of the class of 1971. She remained life-long friends with the other singers in the group. Jill was a creative cook, always looking for new and unusual recipes to serve along with her staple dishes. She often lent her talents in the kitchen to serve others whenever she could.
Jill worked in various capacities as an administrative assistant at Purdue University, spending most of her 30-years in the College of Electrical and Computer Engineering. She retired in 2018 after a few final years with the IU School of Medicine.
On January 10, 1981, Jill married John D. Comer in the Pine Village Christian Church.
Jill leaves behind her husband, John of 45 years along with a daughter, Cammi (Bram) Wahl, Westfield, IN; a brother, Randy (the late-Lisa) Coffman, Pine Village; In-laws, Wendi (John) Jenkinson, Cathy (Jeff) Noerenberg and Charles "Sonny" (Anna Mae) Comer, all of rural Warren County; Cindy (Mike) Summers, New Castle, IN; along with many nieces and nephews. Jill also enjoyed time at home on her patio with their dog Lucky, and cats Ozzy and Georgie.
