Attica - Jimie Lee "Sonny" Bixler, 74, Attica, passed away in his residence on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 10:33 p.m. He had been in failing health.
Sonny, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Spencer, Indiana on November 17, 1948. He was the son of the late John Leroy Bixler Sr. and the Leota (Ruble) Bixler. He was raised in Spencer and attended school there. He has lived most of his adult life in Attica.
Sonny formerly worked as a grinder as Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica.
Sonny enjoyed cutting firewood with his brother, Ricky.
Sonny was first married to Rosemary Bernarte and later to Carol Scott.
Sonny leaves behind three children, Greg Bixler, Michelle (Bill) Woods, Mary Bixler, all of Brazil, IN; two step children, Billy Scott, Attica and Crissy (Tim) Scott, Williamsport; two brothers, Ricky L. (Debbie) Bixler, Attica and Benny L. Bixler, Spencer, IN; three sisters, Barbara Jean Payne, Portland Arch, IN; Sara "Sis" Ann Butler, Attica; Alice May (David) Braut, Freedom, IN; ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carolyn "Susie" Sue Townsend and Mary Ann Clarkson along with a brother, John L. Bixler Jr.
As per Sonny's request, cremation services were accorded him with no services scheduled.
