Thorntown, IN - John Mark Purviance Jr, 27, Thorntown, passed away at his home in Thorntown on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 at 7:37 a.m. Mark, as he was known to family and friends, was born on December 8, 1998 in Watseka, Illinois to Cheryl Purviance and John Mark Purviance Sr.
Mark was raised in Goodland before later moving to Lafayette. He is a 2018 graduate of McCutchan High School. He was employed with Hendrickson in Lebanon as an assembly painter. Mark loved numerology, astrology, and technology. He enjoyed cars, racing, and football, specifically the Kanas City Chiefs. Mark was a proud Uncle Bub and proud fiancé and he was most proud to be a father.
Mark was an amazing son, grandson, father, fiancé, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend to all who love and miss him dearly.
Mark leaves behind his Fiancée Zoe Brinson and their two boys, Marco and Phoenix. He is also survived by Father John and his Fiancée Christina Carr, his mother Cheryl and maternal grandparents, Cheryl and Charlie Wright, mother and father-in-law, Eloise and Brian Brinson, Sister Shaina (Andres) Sanchez, Step-sister Maggie Luellen and Step-brothers Donnie Carr and Scotty (Chellsy Tiffin) Carr, nieces and nephews, Azelynn, Manny, Adalena, Marianna, Andres "Budders,"  Meena, Amani Sanchez, Anna, Kaiser, Roselynn Tiffin-Carr, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Friends may gather at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, June 27th, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Mark's life being held at 4:00 p.m. with family and friends speaking.  A dinner will follow from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge # 1482 in Attica.  Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
