Madison, IN - John S. Warf, 90, formerly of West Point and had been residing at Madison, IN, passed away at the home of his daughter, Jane Warf, in Madison, IN on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 11:45 p.m.
John was born in Lee County, Virginia on September 17, 1933.  He was the son of the late Morgan and Sarah (Clounce) Warf.  He was raised and educated in Lee County, Virginia.  He later moved to the West Point area, where he worked for the West Lafayette City Water Department for 31 years, retiring in 1990.
John was a former member of the West Point Baptist Church.  He enjoyed raising, showing and riding horses.
On July 2, 1958, John married Mary E. Johnson in Tazwell, TN.  Mary preceded him in death on November 28, 2008.
John leaves behind two daughters, Jane Warf, Madison, IN; Cindy (James Dozier) Warf, Richmond, IN; a son, John (Maryann) Warf, Mitchell, IN;  10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.  John was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ashley Fortner; a brother, Moses Warf and three sisters, Jerleen Warf, Lorena Bradford and Gwendolyn Warf.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, November 30th, from 12:00 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Badgley officiating.  Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery, east of Attica.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish-Foundation.
