Attica - Judith "Judy" Arlene (Burris) Tippy, 82, formerly of Attica, passed away in the Rosewalk Village in Lafayette, IN on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 at 5:40 a.m.
Judy was born in Attica, Indiana on April 25, 1941.  She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Odell and Mary Catherine (Beavers) Burris.  She was raised in Attica and as a teenager moved to Michigan and resided in the Benton Harbor and St. Joseph area.  She later moved to Watervliet, MI before moving back to Attica in 1983.  In 1986 she moved to Judsonia, Arkansas and resided there until moving back to Indiana in 2022.
Judy was a homemaker and also worked in security for the various stores in Arkansas.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, making candy, cookies and cakes.  In her pastime she enjoyed working crosswords and reading along with playing games on her computer.
On August 10, 1957, Judy married Bobby R. Tippy in St. Joseph, MI.  Bobby preceded her in death on February 22, 2010.
Judy leaves behind three children, Kevin (Karla) Tippy, Attica; Trina Tippy and Todd Tippy, both of Searcy, AR; six grandchildren, Eric Tippy, Zachary Tippy, Kristen Vaughn, Justin Vaughn, Jacob Tippy and Caleb Tippy; a great-granddaughter, Sayler Tippy.  She was preceded in death by a son, Brian Keith Tippy; two grandchildren, Alec Mendenhall and Kaytlynn Vaughn and two brothers, Harold E. Burris and Jimmie Lee Burris.
As per Judy's request, cremation services were accorded her and a private family burial will be held at a later date in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the National Suicide Prevention Association or the local chapter of Suicide Prevention Association.
