Independence - Judy Kay (Yonts) Farrar, 75, Independence, passed away in the Williamsport Health & Rehabilitation Center on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 5:50 p.m.
Judy was born in Nortonville, Kentucky on February 10, 1947. She was the daughter of the late Owen Judson and Reva Agnes (Crick) Yonts. She was raised in Kentucky and later moved to Independence where she lived for over 30 years. She attended Seeger Memorial High School.
Judy formerly worked at Haan Craft in Oxford and prior to that worked in the kitchen at. St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital and also at the Oxford Nursing Center and Lafayette Healthcare Center.
Judy attended the Riverview United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and fishing. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and she was considered "Mom" to a lot of children in the Independence community.
On October 18, 1964 Judy married Loren A. Farrar in West Lebanon, IN. Loren preceded her in death on September 12, 2007.
Judy leaves behind four children, Lorna Kay (Chuck) Houck, Independence; Loren (companion-Deana) Farrar Jr., Independence; Teresa Dyer, Riverside and Marsha Ann (Ross) Lillpop, Lafayette; four siblings, Larry (Kathy) Yonts, Little Rock, AR; Brenda Fay Clure, Waterville, KY; Timothy Wayne Yonts, Mayfield, KY and Daryl Yonts, Sedelia, KY; fifteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Reva Richardson and a brother, Dwight Judson Yonts and a grandson, Jon Dyer.
As per Judy's request, cremation services were accorded her and a memorial gravesite service will be held at a later date in the Independence Cemetery.
