Newtown - Launa Elaine (Lidester) Tyra, 57, of Newtown, IN, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on April 7, 2023. Launa was born on December 18, 1965 in Lafayette, IN to Alta Mae (Goings) Wilson of Manistee, MI and the late Jackie Blaine Lidester.
She married Gregory A Tyra on November 19, 1997; and together they devoted their life to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was a faithful, fun loving wife and homemaker who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community. She was truly a Proverbs 31 woman.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Gregory Tyra, Newtown; her son Michael (Jamie) Brown of Lafayette, IN, daughter Heather (Adam) Clarke of Sumter, SC, daughter Lindsey Brown of Newtown, IN, and son Trouble (Bobbie) Byrum of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren Addison, Mason, Silas, and Abby; and siblings Michael (Susan) Lidester, Linda (Gary McElwee) Earl, Cindy (Samantha Perkins) Lidester, Alichia (Matt) Wilson, Patrick Wilson, and Turtle Wilson and her mother, Alta Mae Wilson.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, April 14th, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Her celebration of life service will be held in the Attica Free Methodist Church on Saturday, April 15th at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Tom Camp and her husband, Greg Tyra, officiating. Burial will follow in the Newtown Cemetery, Newtown, Indiana.
