Williamsport - Lawrence "Larry" Wayne Hockenbury, 68, of Williamsport, passed away at his residence, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at 2:47 p.m.
Larry, as he was known to family and friends, was born in Danville, Illinois on August 5, 1953. He was the son of Marian Inez (Summers) Hockenbury Wescott and the late Richard Edward Hockenbury. Larry was raised in Covington and graduated from Covington High School in 1971. He has resided in Williamsport since 1975.
Larry formerly worked at Hysters in Danville, IL and also operated Hockenbury Trash Service in Williamsport. He later worked at Master Guard in Veedersburg and enjoyed the time spent on his Journal & Courier Newspaper delivery route in the Warren County area. In his past time he enjoyed working on cars. Larry served on the Williamsport Volunteer Fire Department and formerly coached Little League Baseball in Williamsport.
Larry married Donna Powell. He later married Patty J. Carroll.
Larry leaves behind his wife, Patty Hockenbury of Atlanta, GA; his mother, Marian Wescott, Covington; a son, Travis (Amy) Hockenbury, Attica; a step son, Ryan Carroll, Atlanta, GA; a brother, Mike (Raquel) Stultz, Covington; two grandsons, Colbie Hockenbury, Attica and Alex Riddle, Carbondale, IL; three step grandchildren, Justin (Mariah) Hurd, Mackenzie (Sam) Woodrow and Landon Hurd; six step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Edward Hockenbury and a son, Justin Hockenbury.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Thursday, March 3rd from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Chaplain Freddy Bird and Mike Stultz officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Cemetery, Williamsport. Memorial contributions may be made to the CFL Rescue and Sanctuary, c/o Kim Lawson, 315 N. Crystal Falls Lane, Hillsboro, IN 47949.
