Veedersburg - Lee Roy Dismore, 89, formerly of Veedersburg and had been residing in the Fountain Springs of Covington, passed away in the Franciscan Health Hospital, Crawfordsville on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 2:35 a.m.
Lee Roy was born in Attica, Indiana on December 15, 1936.  He was the son of the late Francis Dismore and Minnie (Hopkins) Dismore Sells.  Lee Roy was a life resident of Veedersburg, graduating from Veedersburg High School in 1956.
Lee Roy worked at Olin Corp. in Covingon for 41 years, retiring in 1997.
Lee Roy served in the Indiana National Guard.  He was a member of the Sterling Christian Church.  He was a member of the Veedersburg Lodge # 491 F. & A.M.  Lee Roy and his wife Shirley loved to travel.  In his younger years he liked to go horseback riding.  Being with family and family gatherings were enjoyable times for Lee Roy.
On June 6, 1958 Lee Roy married Shirley Scott in Veedersburg, IN.  Shirley preceded him in death on November 24, 2025.
Lee Roy leaves behind four children, Eric (Denise) Dismore, Sandra (James) Robinson and Lori (Mark) Bowlus, all of Veedersburg; Debbie (Tim) Davis, Trenton, OH; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and two on the way.  He was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Parker Bowlus; a brother, Carl Dismore and a sister, Ida Mae Hershberger.
As per Lee Roy's request, cremation services were accorded him and a private family service will be held at the Sterling Christian Church at a later date.
