Lillian L. Sexton
Attica - Lillian Louise (Phillips) Sexton, 88, Attica, passed away unexpectedly in her home on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 10:37 p.m.
Lillian or "Lil" as she was known to family and friends was born in Attica, Indiana on July 31, 1931. She was the daughter of the late Chester F. and Margaret Belle (Simmerman) Phillips. She has been a life resident of Attica and attended Attica High School.
She had formerly worked at Radio Material Corp in Attica and had retired from Harrison Steel Castings Company on April 13, 1995.
Lil enjoyed volunteering her time to the Attica community by working with the ASK (Area Sharing Kindness) program. She had formerly attended the Attica Church of the Nazarene and attending sporting events of her children and grandchildren.
On November 18, 1950, Lil married Richard "Dick" Andrew Sexton in Covington, IN.
She leaves behind her husband, Dick of 69 years. She also leaves behind two sons, Dickie (Kay) Sexton, West Lebanon and Bobby D. (Karen) Sexton, Lafayette; a daughter, Cindy Ann (Jeffry) Jernagan, Lafayette; a sister, Carolyn Pickett, Lafayette; three grandsons, Brad Sexton , Bryce (Laura) Sexton and P.J. Flickinger; four granddaughters, Amber Johnson, Tasha Cox, Lynzie Flickinger and Ashlynn Sexton; eighteen great-grandchildren, Abby, Sydney, Darby, Andrew, Berkeley, Parker, Luke, Nora, Kai, Memphis, Jersey, Dairyen, Gabby, Franklin, Donoven, Landen, Josiah and Chris; a great great-granddaughter, Winnie; a special friend, Shelia (John) Binz, West Lafayette; She was preceded in death by a daughter, Pamela K. Wilson; two great-granddaughters, Rainey and Skyler Cox Logsdon; four sisters, Dorothy McIntosh, Marcella Gushwa, Marjorie Adams and Sandy Derment; three brothers, Lawrence, Bob and Chester Phillips.
A funeral service for Lil will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, November 23rd, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Dan Jordan officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the donor's choice.
