West Lebanon - Linda Kay (Harper) Cates, 78, of West Lebanon, passed away quietly at her home, with family by her side, on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 12:24 p.m.
Linda was born in Clinton, Indiana on June 19, 1946.  She was the daughter of the late Dale Harper and Eileen (Rayl) Flick.  Linda was raised in rural Covington and graduated from Covington High School in 1964.
Following graduation Linda worked at GE in Danville, IL.  She later managed the Veedersburg Sewing Factory.  Her final employment was with Arby's Restaurant at the intersection of Interstate 74 and State Road 63 west of Covington.
Linda attended the Harvest Chapel Church in Williamsport.  Linda enjoyed bowling and bowled on a women's league and a Friday night mixed league with her husband in Covington.  Linda enjoyed the outdoors and liked to camp with family and go on motorcycle rides with her husband.
On December 10, 1966, Linda married Ronald Milton Cates in Veedersburg, IN.  Ron preceded her in death on January 8, 2021.
Linda leaves behind her daughter, Ronette (Jonathan) Lape, West Lebanon and a son, Bryan Cates, West Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Leslie (Steven Cooper) Cates; Alyssa Nixon; Ryne (Johnetta) Cates; Jody (Brittany) Cates; Amanda Cates; Blayne Lape and Taylor Lape; eleven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a son, Brad Cates and a daughter, Lisa Cates along with three brothers, Michael, Lester and Sandy Harper.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Friday, December 13th, from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Tyra officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Covington.  Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital or the Riley Children's Hospital.
