Covington, IN - Linda Ann (Woodrow) Rayburn, 87, Covington passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Indianapolis, on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 10:48 p.m.
The younger of two children, Linda was born to Harold and Marjorie (Ratcliff) Woodrow on her Grandfather Woodrow's farm near Cates, IN on January 19, 1938. She was raised in Fountain County, graduated from Covington High School in 1956 and lived most of her life in the Covington area.
Linda worked as a secretary for both Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp. and Newport Army Ammunition Plant in her early adult life. Most of her working career was dedicated to keeping the books for the Rayburn Family Farms in Fountain County until her retirement.
Linda had a strong Christian faith and attended the Attica Free Methodist Church. She did a lot of volunteer work where she touched the lives of many in the community and surrounding area.
On August 25, 1957, Linda married Gary E. Chilcote at the Salem Methodist Church near Covington. Gary preceded Linda in death. On August 9, 1971, Linda married Fred Thomas Rayburn in the Benson Chapel near Covington. Fred preceded her in death on March 29, 2023. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Linda leaves behind one brother, Kevin Woodrow, Greenfield; one child, Karen (Eric) Roberts, Indianapolis; three stepchildren, Kathy (Chuck) Kasubjak, Fishers, Fred Thomas (Kim) Rayburn, Jr., Attica, and Steve (Stephanie Knosp) Rayburn, Williamsport; nine grandchildren, Gabby Roberts, Sophia Roberts, Mandy (Kerry) Illg, Jason Kasubjak, Ryne (Brittany) Rayburn, Steffi (Ben) Anderson, Shea Rayburn, DeeAnn (D.J.) Jensen, and Dr. Brittany (Tim) Bertsch; and eleven great-grandchildren, Carter Illg, Parker Illg, Beckett Rayburn, Brooks Rayburn, Hadley Rayburn, Sam (Raelyn) Anderson, Mylo Anderson, Deklon Jensen, Dawson Jensen, Teagan Bertsch and Tatum Bertsch.
A private family grave site service and burial will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery, Covington. Memorial contributions in Linda's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of one's choice.
