Attica - Linda Lou (Goodrick) Scott, 88, Attica, went to be with her Lord and Savior, with the love of her life by her side, on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 9:22 a.m. in Autumn Trace in Attica following her failing health of the past two years.
Linda was born in West Lebanon, Indiana on October 23, 1936.  She was the daughter of the late Roy T. and Lola (Pearson) Goodrick.  Linda was raised in West Lebanon and graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1956.  While in high school she was a percussionist in the high school band and a member of the 4-H program.
Following graduation from high school, Linda married Carl E. "Scottie" Scott on June 15, 1956 in Attica.
Linda was a devoted wife and mother and raising her family was her passion. She especially enjoyed the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She and her husband, Carl 'Scottie" owned the Scott Chevrolet-Olds Dealership in Attica. Together they enjoyed golfing, tennis, traveling and most importantly spending time with family.  Linda was an active member of the Attica First United Methodist Church for many years.  She was also a member of the Attica Bunco Club for many years and enjoyed spending time with friends.
Linda leaves behind her husband Carl "Scottie" E. Scott of 68 years along with two daughters, Teal (Larry) Briles, Attica and Leah (David) Helms, Veedersburg; her five grandsons, Kris (Kristen) Kirby, Travis Kirby, Hesston (Katelyn) Helms, Hayden (Cassidy) Helms and Holden (Erin) Helms; three step grandchildren, twins Tony (Aimee) Briles and Andy (Jan) Briles; Shannon (Mike) Holen; eleven great-grandchildren, Addi Kirby, Blaine Kirby, Harrison Kirby, Camden Kirby, Shay Helms, Colton Helms, Madi Helms, Brynlee Helms, Hudson Helms, Sawyer Helms and Jaxon Helms.  She was affectionately considered a second mom to three very special people, Mark Pearl, Cathy Capps and Shari Lewis. She also had several nieces and nephews that held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret DeSutter and Irene Oakley along with three brothers, Richard, Tom,  and Ernest "Spud" Goodrick.
A celebration of Linda's life will be held in the Sterling Christian Church on Saturday, November 9th, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gary Johnson officiating.  Following the celebration of life there will be a time for visitation and refreshments held in the Gathering Room adjacent to the sanctuary.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Sterling Christian Church, 701 S. Sterling Avenue, Veedersburg, IN 47987.
