Williamsport - Linda Sue (Yowell) Verhoeven, 62, Williamsport, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 11:06 p.m. in the I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette with her loving husband by her side.
Linda was born in Rantoul, Illinois on April 25, 1959. She was the daughter of the late Audrey "Guy" Gwynn and Wanda Charlotte (Stahl) Yowell Jr. Linda was raised in Rossville, Illinois with some years spent in California, Georgia and Alabama while her father was in the Air Force. She graduated from Rossville-Alvin High School in 1978.
On October 20, 1979, Linda married Samuel M. Verhoeven in Rossville, IL. They were blessed with43 years of marriage.
Linda held a variety of jobs including teachers aide in Warren Central Elementary, McDonalds and West Lebanon Library. Her favorite was being a farmer's wife and helping her husband on the family farm. Linda loved spending time with her six grandchildren. Most importantly she loved Jesus and attended Judyville Church for over forty years, serving in numerous capacities. She loved brightening others day with a note or a card in the mail. She enjoyed reading her Bible, books and playing games on Face book.
She leaves behind her husband, Sam of 43 wonderful years along with a daughter, Melissa "Missy" (Josh) Munson, Attica; two sons, Samuel Verhoeven and Daniel (Erin) Verhoeven, both of Williamsport; six grandchildren, Caleb, Emma, Jacob, Xzavier, Carson and Dalton; a brother, Wayne Yowell, Gifford, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Ray and Carolyn Verhoeven. Heaven gained an angel, while we lost one. In the words of Linda, "It's been one heck of a ride, hasn't it?"
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, March 28th, from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. EDT. Services will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 29th, at 10:30 a.m. EDT with Pastor Brenda McIntosh officiating. Burial will follow in the Rossville Cemetery, Rossville, IL. Casual dress is preferred for visitation and service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Judyville Church or the charity of one's choice.
