State Line, IN - Rev. Loy "Buddy" F. Brown Jr. 82, formerly of State Line, IN, passed away in the Rose Walk Village, Lafayette on Monday, January 30, 2023 at 11:41 a.m.
Loy was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 28, 1940. He was the son of the late Francis and Martha (French) Brown. Loy was raise and educated in Indianapolis.
Loy was ordained in the Church of the Nazarene, pastoring at State Line, Boswell, Attica, Gary and Hobart Churches of the Nazarene. While living in Hobart, Loy also served as a bus driver for the Calumet School Corporation. Later when he relocated back to the Warren County area, Loy served as custodian and bus mechanic for the Seeger Memorial School. In 1979 he was honored for his outstanding service by having all the school buses passing 100% inspection for the first time in 30 years. Loy and his wife Sandy were famous for their peanut brittle.
Loy married Sandra Marlene Brown on September 29, 1956 in Bloomington, IN. Sandra preceded Loy in death on March 1, 2014.
Loy leaves behind three children, Kathryn (John Runyan) Pearson, Kokomo, IN; Linda (John) Cope, State Line, IN and Ronald (fiancée-Tammy Sexton) Brown, Covington, IN; a sister, Marybell Harvey, Martinsville, IN; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jessica Brown; five sisters, Patsy Eggers, Della Adams, Delores Finley, Ruby White and Julia Adams; a brother, Arthur Brown.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, February 4th from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. EST with Pastor Bob Trafford officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Corner Cemetery, near Bismark, IL. Condolences may
