Attica - Lynette Marie (Grogan) Finney, 64, of rural Attica, passed away in the Franciscan Health East Hospital, Lafayette on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 3:55 p.m. with her family by her side.
Lynette was born in Lafayette, Indiana on December 1, 1961. She was the daughter of the late Darrel and Donna (Jasheway) Grogan. Lynette was raised near
Ambia and graduated from Benton Central High School in 1980. She has resided in rural Attica, near Independence since 1985.
Lynette enjoyed raising her children and after they were grown, began working in the kitchen at West Lafayette High School and at Wiley Hall at Purdue University. She more recently worked as an aide in the library at the Williamsport Elementary School until her retirement in May of 2024.
Lynette was an active member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Attica. She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters. She was "Granny" to her six grandchildren and loved following them in their activities. She liked to camp, especially at the Earl Park Festival.
On August 16, 1980, Lynette married the love of her life, Gregory R. Finney at the Catholic Church in Dunnington, IN.
She leaves behind her husband, Greg of soon to be 46 years along with their three sons, Shaun (Nicole) Finney, Valparaiso, IN; Tyler (Brook) Finney, Lafayette and Logan Finney, Vancouver, WA; two brothers, Mark (Hope) Grogan, Boswell and Mike (Kris) Grogan, Independence; six grandchildren, Keatyn and Caswell Hawk; Maelyn, Teagan, Pearl and Ruby Finney; her best friend, Paula and Don Stinson, West Lafayette. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jeff "Red" Grogan.
A Rosary Service will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Monday, February 9th, at 4:30 p.m. followed by a visitation from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 407 S. Perry St., Attica, on Tuesday, February 10th, at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Rasner officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County 4–H program or the Sacred Heart School at 607 N. Washington Avenue, Fowler, IN 47944.
