Hillsboro - Mable Alice (Wagoner) Hesler Myers , 98, of Hillsboro, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family and friends on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 6:00 a.m.
Mable was born June 8, 1922 in rural Hillsboro to the late Ransom Eden and Dott Ann (Rusing) Wagoner. She formerly attended Wallace Schools and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1940. She married Max Myers of Wallace April 12, 1942 in Hillsboro, Indiana. They were married 58 wonderful years before his death on August 11, 2000. After World War II Max and Mable lived on the Myers' family farm near Wallace. In 1978 they retired and moved to Hillsboro.
Mable was a faithful member of Phanuel Lutheran Church at Wallace where she taught Sunday School and was very active in the Ladies Aid.
Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She loved her home, making spectacular Christmas ornaments, reading, doing jigsaw puzzles, mushroom hunting, playing Skip Bo, and taking golf cart rides. She was an avid Indianapolis Pacer fan.
She is survived by daughter Brenda (Joe) Cook, Indianapolis and son in law Tim Pelfrey, Covington, KY. Four grandchildren Doug (Michele) Cook, Lori (Dustin) Bazemore, Todd (Kristen) Pelfrey, and Tess (Justin) Ocean. She was Myerson to five great grandchildren, Reagan, Harrison, Teddy, Sadie, and Colton; and 3 step great grandchildren David, Annie, and Elliott, and one step great great grandchild, Meredith. And several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by an infant son, her husband Max, and a daughter Betsy Pelfrey.
A public gravesite service will be held in the Wallace Lutheran Cemetery on Monday, March 22nd at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Kelly Nelson of the Christ Lutheran Church in Crawfordsville, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Wallace Lutheran Cemetery, LCC K9 Comfort Dog Fund/Lutheran Church Charities Comfort Dog Ministries or Hillsboro Volunteer Fire Department.
