Attica - Marilyn J. (Henry) Billingsley, 89, Attica, passed away in Cumberland Pointe Health Campus, West Lafayette, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 3:23 p.m.
Marilyn was born in Jefferson County, Indiana on July 9, 1934. She was the daughter of the late Floyd J. and Norma J. (Aldridge) Henry. She was raised in Madison and Kokomo, before moving to West Lebanon in 1949. She graduated from West Lebanon High School in 1952 and in 1955 moved to Attica.
In 1955 she began working as a buyer for Harrison Steel Castings Company in Attica. She worked at Harrison Steel until 1958 and then began her career with C & D Battery, working in payroll, until her retirement in 1997.
She was a member of the Newtown Community Church, Christian Women's Fellowship of the Church, Newtown Red Hats and a former member of the Hillsboro Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was an avid golfer and was a member of the Thursday Ladies Golf League at Harrison Hills Country Club. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post # 3318 of Attica. She enjoyed gardening and flowers. She has wintered in Lakeland, FL since 1988.
On June 18, 1962, Marilyn married Merle F. Billingsley in Attica. Merle preceded her in death on September 16, 1996.
Marilyn leaves behind her son, Rick (Stacy) Billingsley, Attica; her companion of 25 years, Robert R. "Bob" Bowles, Attica; a step daughter, Penny (Jerry) Haddock, Attica and a step son, Scott Bowles, Bloomington, IN. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cami Jean Billingsley.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Sunday, January 28th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Joshua Barnett officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica. Memorial contributions may be made to the Newtown Community Church.
