Lafayette - Marjorie E. (Burman) Pratt, 100, Lafayette, passed away in St. Anthony Healthcare in Lafayette on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 6:00 p.m.
Marjorie was born in Fowler, Indiana on Christmas Day, 1924.  She was the daughter of the late Leslie W. and Helen (Rinker) Burman.  She was raised near Monon, graduating from Monon High School in 1942.  She has lived in Benton and Warren Counties for several years and has lived in Lafayette since 1971.
Marjorie worked as a switchboard operator for the telephone service in Boswell.  She  later worked as a cashier at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 10 years and then served as a bookkeeper for the Production Credit Union for ten years.   Her last employment was a saleswoman for Hart Shoe Company until her retirement.  During this time she also helped her husband farm for many years.
Marjorie was an active member of the Pine Village Christian Church.  She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post in Boswell.  She was a member of the Birthday Club in Lafayette.  In her pastime she collected china cups and saucers, angels and Precious Moments figurines.  She enjoyed working with ceramics.  She was an avid Purdue basketball fan.  But most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
On October 5, 1945, Marjorie married Robert "Bob" G. Pratt in Boswell, IN.  Bob preceded her in death on April 30, 2005.
Marjorie leaves behind her two daughters, Nancy C. Kochell, Pine Village and Patricia Ann (Jerry) Owens, Fort Wayne, IN; a granddaughter, Gina Ann (Rob) Anderson, Remington, IN; four great-grandchildren, Kacey (Wes) Lock, Alyson (Justin) Buschman, Haley and Alyssa Anderson; seven great great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Delyla, Raelyn, Kara Beth, Emma, Huxley and Rylee.    She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Arnold Burman; two sisters, Jean Hartman and Nancy Sue Hageman; her parents and her son-in-law, Dale Kochell.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Tuesday, December 2nd from 12:00 p.m. until the service time at 2:00 p.m. with her nephew Rick Davison officiating.  Burial will follow in the Pine Village Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Warren County Community Foundation "Valerie McIntosh Fund".
