Attica - Martha Anne (Jackson) Bruner Smith, 80, of Attica, died at 8:40 p.m. on Monday, December 4, 2023 at the Autumn Trace Senior Community, Attica.

Martha was born on September 28, 1943 in Frankfort, Kentucky.  She was the daughter of the late John Edward and Ruthie Juanita (Sneed) Jackson.  She grew up and attended school in Louisville, Kentucky.

Martha married Max Vernon Bruner on April 23, 1967 in Newtown.  He preceded her in death on August 3, 1994.  She later married Jerry Michael Smith on April 4, 1998 in Covington.  He preceded her in death on August 8, 2016.

Martha was a member of the Old Fashioned United Baptist Church in Independence.  She was a hard worker and had worked most of her life, most recently at Masterguard in Veedersburg as a quality control inspector.

Martha is survived by a son, David (Melissa) Bruner, Attica; a sister, Emily (Darrell Rogers) Frantz, Glasgow, KY; grandchildren, David Daniel Bruner, Alexis Bruner and Max Bruner III; and a great-granddaughter.  She was also preceded in death by a son, Max Vernon Bruner II; grandchildren, Sabrina and Bradley; and several brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held at Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Sunday, December 10, from 12:00 noon until the service time of 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow in the Newtown Cemetery, Newtown.
