Perrysville - Martha Mae (Hamand) Payne, 67, formerly of Perrysville, passed away in The Waters of Covington, on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 5:55 a.m.
Martha was born in Danville, Illinois on February 5, 1959. She was the daughter of the late Ralph Allen and Doris Mae (Williford) Hamand. Martha was raised in Georgetown, where she graduated from Georgetown High School. Martha worked at Peterson-Puritan, Inc., in Danville, which was later known at KIK Custom Products until she became disabled in 2020. Martha married John R. Payne on August 28, 2009. John preceded her in death on April 2, 2022. Martha leaves behind two sons, Kevin (Jessica) Payne, Mellott and John Richard Payne; four grandchildren, Jaylin, Autumn, Madison and Elijah Payne. She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister. As per Martha’s request, cremation services were accorded her and no services are scheduled.
