Attica - Marvin Guy Kyle, Sr., 78, Attica, passed away in the Franciscan Health Hospital, Lafayette, on Monday, September 1, 2025 at 2:50 p.m.
Marvin was born in Fordsville, Kentucky on October 26, 1946.  He was the son of the late Thomas Lee and Mary Magdeline (Cooper) Kyle.  Marvin grew up in Owensboro, KY and Tell City, IN before moving to Lafayette, where he graduated from Klondike High School in 1963.  He has resided in rural Attica for the past 31 years.
Marvin was a journeyman carpenter and was a member of the Carpenter's Local # 215 of Lafayette. He worked for the Union fot 42 years before retiring.   He was a master craftsman at his trade and even built his own home and pole building.  There was an old barn on his property and instead of tearing the barn down he restored it to its original form.
On June 12, 1990, Marvin married Cheryl Marie (Devol) Humphrey in Lafayette, IN.
Marvin leaves behind his wife, Cheryl of 35 years along with three children, Patricia (Steve) Sparger, West Point, IN; Marvin Guy (Becky) Kyle, Jr., Lafayette and Charles Humphrey, Indianapolis; twelve grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.  Marvin was preceded in death by a daughter, Regina Krick; a brother, Gary Kyle and a grandson.
A memorial gathering for Marvin will be held at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica on Friday, September 5th, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Niches Land Trust,  1782 N 400 E, Lafayette, IN 47905.
