Attica - Mary Jo (Pollom) Lucas, 90, of rural Attica died at 11:32 a.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2025 with family by her side.
Mary was born on January 7, 1935 in Warren County.  She was the daughter of the late Jim Pollom and Helen Margene (High) Smith.  She grew up in Warren County until moving to Newton County in 1977.  She then moved back to Warren County in 2000. She was a mother who loved raising her family but had also formerly worked at the Mudlavia Lodge, RMC in Attica and for Gene Fowler Electric Co. in State Line.
Mary married Raymond L. Lucas on November 25, 1954 in Williamsport.  He preceded her in death on June 12, 2005.
Mary was a member of the Hickman Heights Christian Church.  She loved to garden, raising both flowers and vegetables.  She loved her cock-a-poo, Dexter.
Surviving are a son, Frankie (Robin) Lucas, Pine Village; daughter, Lisa Kennedy, Attica; four sisters, Peggy Jean (Jerry) McCoskey, Pine Village, Carol (Tim) Johnson, Gibson City & Sherry (Shawn) Gardner, Paxton, IL, and Penny (Bill) Cahoe, Muncie; three grandchildren, Chastity (Aaron) French, Crawfordsville, Carrie (Joshua) Johnson, Attica and Kayla (Corey) Myers, Williamsport; and eight great-grandchildren, Shelby, Eli, Rhylee, Allie, Kelsey, Carson, Aiden & Kolbie.  She was preceded in death by an infant son, Jimmy Lee Lucas and a brother, Bill Pollom.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Hickman Heights Christian Church on Friday, March 21, from 1:00 pm until the service time of 3:00 pm with Pastor Ian Constandi officiating. Contributions may be made to the Hickman Heights Christian Church or the Rainsville Cemetery Association.
