Indianapolis - Matthew Lane Ratzlaff, 22, Beech Grove, IN, passed away as a result of a car accident that occurred in Fountain County, Indiana on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 9:45 a.m.
Matthew was born in Wichita, KS on May 10, 2001.  He was the son of Tabitha Andreotta of Indianapolis and Marshall Ratzlaff of Wichita, KS.  Matthew was raised in Wichita, KS and later moving to Indianapolis where he graduated from Perry Meridian High School in 2019.  He was presently residing in Beech Grove.  After graduation, Matthew worked for Landscaping Corp. in Wichita, KS.  He later began working for "Two Men and a Truck" in Indianapolis and was presently contracted with Nugate Agency as a truck driver through Lowes and Menards.  He was working toward owning his own trucking business with his cousin, Tony Theye.
Matthew loved being outdoors where he enjoyed fishing. He also enjoyed  playing video games.  He enjoyed listening and recording music with his best friend, Jared Nash and hanging out with his good friend, Luke Jeffries.  He enjoyed the time spent with his family and was a free spirit by being a jokester and making his family and friends laugh.  He was a devoted brother to his other brothers, Michael and Maxwell.
He leaves behind his high school sweetheart and soon to be mother of his child, Destiny Pemberton, Beech Grove; his soon-to-be daughter expected in November, Salora Lane; his mother, Tabitha Andreotta, Indianapolis; his father, Marshall Ratzlaff, Wichita, KS; his older brother, Michael Ratzlaff, Indianapolis and his younger brother, Maxwell Ratzlaff, Indianapolis; Maternal Grandmother, Marge and the late Sean Osborne, Indianapolis; Paternal Great-Grandmother, Jean Ratzlaff, Libral, KS; Aunts, Sara Jordan, Wichita, KS and Tina Stewart, Florida; several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Virginia Mora and Marvin Ratzlaff.
A gathering and celebration of Matthew's life will be held on Sunday, August 6th from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the Tulip Shelter in the Sarah T. Bolton Park, 1300 Churchman Avenue, Beech Grove, IN.  Matthew was noted for his saying "Whether you think you can or can't, you're always right".
