Covington - Melvin Eugene Brier, 64, of rural Covington, passed away at his residence on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 8:04 a.m.
Melvin was born in Williamsport, Indiana on August 1, 1958. He was the son of the late Floyd Samuel and Velma Pauline ( Turner) Brier. Melvin was raised in Attica, graduating from Attica High School in 1977. He has lived in rural Covington for the past 29 years.
Melvin was a crew leader for the Indiana State Highway Department. He worked for 45 years for the highway department, retiring in September of 2022.
Melvin enjoyed hunting. Melvin married Peggy A. Willett on May 24, 1980 in Stone Bluff.
He leaves behind his wife, Peggy of 42 years along with a son, Jacob E. Brier, Avon, IN; a granddaughter, Lena Brier; a brother, Darrell (Donna) Brier, Attica and a sister, Karen (John) Scheurich, Hillsboro.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Saturday, November 19th, from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Daneen Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.
