Marshall, IN - Michael Eugene Walters, 70, Marshall, passed away in his home on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 4:37 a.m.
Michael was born in Canton, Illinois on January 10, 1952. He was the son of the late Warner Dean and Doris JoAnn (Archdale) Walters. He was raised in Farmington, Illinois and graduated from Farmington East High School.
Michael worked for Caterpillar in Peoria East, IL until retiring on September 1, 2003. He then moved to Griffin, GA and worked for Schilli Distribution Services until moving to Marshall, IN and retiring for good. While living in Marshall, he became acquainted with Amish families and assisted them in transportation when needed.
Michael was a member of the Griffin Moose Lodge. He enjoyed fishing and camping.
Michael was married to Joyce Walters and she preceded him in death.
He leaves behind his companion of nine years, Anna Duke of Marshall; a sister, Karen Kenny, Farmington, IL and a brother, Harold Walters, Canton, IL; children of his companion as he claimed as his own, Yvette Bray, Swanington, IN; Heath (Elizabeth) Bray, Milner, GA and Crystal (Jessica) Bray, Beech Grove, IN; grandchildren, Lainie Bray & Mallory Buchanan; several nieces and nephews in the Farmington, IL area. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Cruise.
A celebration of Michael's life will be held at the Affordable Auto Repair, 767 U.S. Highway 41, in Rockville, IN on Saturday, December 3, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with Hospice Chaplain Ken speaking.
