Attica - Mildred (Harmon) Stumph, 86, formerly of Attica and had been residing at The Waters of Covington, passed away at The Waters of Covington on Sunday, November 16, 2025 at 2:05 p.m.
Mildred was born in Taylor County, KY on July 19, 1939.  She was the daughter of the late Ray and Mary Ruby (Tucker) Harmon.  She was raised in Kentucky, attending Bradfordsville High School.  She later moved to Patomac, IL in 1958 and then moved to Attica in 1964.
Mildred worked as a nursing aide at the St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital from 1983 until her retirement in 1999.
Mildred was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Attica from 1965-1980, where she taught Sunday School, volunteer with church services in the local nursing centers; singing with the church ladies.  In 1981 Mildred became a charter member of the Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church in Williamsport.  She enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music, fellowshipping, reading Christian literature and other church activities.  Mildred, along with her brothers, played the guitar.  She enjoyed entertaining family and friends with her guitar playing and singing Loretta Lynn's songs, especially "Coal Miner's Daughter".
On June 22, 1957, Mildred married Smith Stumph Sr. in Lebanon, KY.  He preceded her in death on April 9, 1998.
Mildred leaves behind her daughter, Sharon Martin, Attica; her grandchildren, Tyler Lanham, Kristin Martin and Ross Martin; four great-grandchildren, Nichole, Avilyn, Tailyn and Tyler.  She was preceded in death by her son, Smith "Micky" Stumph Jr.; her parents; two brothers, Garnett and Willard Harmon and a sister, Nellie McAllister.
Friends may call at the Maus Funeral Home, Attica, on Wednesday, November 19th from 11:00 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor David Adams officiating.  Burial will follow in the Riverside Cemetery, Attica.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church, 2320 E. U.S. Highway 41, Attica, IN   47918.
